The school is located at the borders of a big city and a Landscape Park. There are about 200 students from different backgrounds.

Students start learning English at primary school. The subject is obligatory. Even though they commune with English for several years their language skills are really poor. Spoken English is often on a level that makes communication in this language impossible. Although learners are surrounded by English- songs, computer phrases, films, YouTube, they cannon use English as a tool of communication.

Facing such problems teachers of foreign languages participate in different courses. They look for methods and approaches to solve the problem or to diminish it. Apart from the methodology courses, the teachers were involved in Erasmus+ project (2014-2016)They took part in foreign trainings aiming at improving the effectivness of learning-teaching process.

Our school took part in a Comenius project (2010-2012). The project had a big influence on students, their language and communication skills.

These practical courses were designed for future CLIL teachers. They introduced methodological approaches to enhance classroom practice and supply vocabulary needed in the classroom. Teachers couldobserve many skills taugh in the methodology classes. They could practisevarious strategies uses in CLIL. The course equipped the participants with the skills, activitiesand language necessary to deliver a range of subject based lessons in English. It also improved confidence, fluency, as well as extending awareness and knowledge of learning styles, various methodological approaches and resources available. The insights were provided into the integration of both and new traditional strategies.
